14 Days and 13 Nights Hiking and Camping Trip to Everest Base Camp, is either of two base camps on opposite sides of Mount Everest. South Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metres, and North Base Camp is in Tibet at 5,150 metres. These camps are used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent to Mount Everest. South Base Camp is used when climbing via the southeast ridge, while North Base Camp is used when climbing via the northeast ridge.

Fun fact : Supplies are shipped to the South Base Camp by sherpas or porters, and with the help of animals, usually yaks. The North Base Camp has vehicle access.

Day 01:

Arrival at Kathmandu (1300M)
Namaste and welcome to Kathmandu. Our representative from OHANA Adventure Sport will greet you at the international airport on your arrival. Then you will be transported to the hotel. After check-in, you are free to refresh and rest.

Day 02:

Fly to Lukla (35 mins flight) and trek to Phakding (2652M)
Ideally, we will arrive in Lukla between 7-9 AM and start walking mostly downhill, relaxed walk on your first day. The total hike should take 3-4 hours. Upon arriving the lodge, spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and starting the acclimatization process. Make sure you keep well hydrated. Drinking 3 liters of water a day is essential all the way through the trek.

Day 03:

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440M)
Today’s trekking will take around 6-7 hours. For the first couple of hours, you will get to cross some suspension bridges, while gradually moving up-hill towards the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, the official entrance of Everest Region. The trail then follows the river to the final high suspension bridge, before you begin the long final stretch to reach the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar.

Day 04:

Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Today is one of our acclimatization trek days. We will trek up Shangbouche Hill. The trail is quite steep so hike slowly to prevent lacking of oxygen. We will enjoy the stunning view on top and relax for a while before returning back to Namche Bazaar. This trek is an essential part of the acclimatization process and usually takes approximately 4 hours.

Day 05:

Namche Bazaar to Tengbouche (3867M)
Today we will hike towards Tengbouche for around 5-6 hours. After ascending out of Namche, the first 2 hours are relaxed walking, traversing the left-hand side of the valley. After our lunch stop, the trail continues for our lodge destination, Tengbouche.

Day 06:

Tengbouche to Dingbouche (4358M)
From Tengbouche, we will hike to Dingbouche. The trail starts down-hill and continues very gradually up and down the hills before crossing the river and finally heading up the hill towards Pangbouche for lunch. After that proceed towards Dingbouche for spending the night there. The total trekking time today will be 5-6 hours.

Day 07:

Acclimatization day at Dingbouche
Today we will spend another night in Dingbouche to further the acclimatization process. From here we will aim to reach the height of 4900M. In this acclimatization trek, we should take approximately 3 hours of trekking. We will enjoy the views and rest for about 30-45 minutes at the high point before dropping back down for lunch and an afternoon of relaxing.

Day 08:

Dingbouche to Lobuche (4828M)
We will head to Lobuche and it will take around 5-6 hours to reach Lobuche. The trail will be heading towards the legendary Khumbu Valley and continues on a long and slow trek across a beautiful elevated route towards Dugla, where we will stop for lunch. We will cross Dugla Pass before reaching our lodge.

Day 09:

Lobuche to Gorakshep (5160M). Proceed to Everest Base Camp (5365M) and back to Gorakshep
Today will be the most important day of the trekking. We will target to reach Everest Base Camp safely! Journey will take around 7 - 8 hours. Today’s trek is very beautiful and unique, crossing a lot of loose rock and glaciers. We will have lunch at Gorakshep before continuing to Everest Base Camp, where we will spend some time enjoying the basecamp of the world’s highest mountain! Then we will descend back to Gorakshep to spend the night after a long tiring day of trekking.

Day 10:

Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5555M). Proceed descend to Pheriche (4358M)
Wake up call early before the sunrise and hike up Kalapatthar to see the sunrise over the Himalayan Range. Upon returning & reaching back to Gorakshep, we will have breakfast and return all the way to Pheriche; which can take 4 hours; making the total amount of time trekking of 7 - 8 hours today.

Day 11:

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Today will be another long day and can take approximately 7 - 9 hours. Upon arriving Namche Bazaar, you will get to enjoy coffee and some fresh bakeries at the Namchee Bakery.

Day 12:

Namchee Bazaar to Lukla (2652M)
Today’s journey will take around 7-8 hours. We will be going back down to Namche Hill and then the long stretch back to Lukla.

Day 13:

Fly back to Kathmandu (1300M)
Today your legs get a break as you only have to trek to Lukla Airport and fly back to Kathmandu, which is only about 10 minutes walking! Flight will take around 35 minutes. Upon arrival Kathmandu, we will be transported to hotel.

Day 14:

Departure to International Airport
It’s your final day of the trip in Nepal. Our company representative will send you to the airport. Bid farewell and wish for safe journey.
